SOCIAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT

TEXT SIZE:

Impact, outcomes, social/added value are becoming increasingly important to commissioners, funders and any other supporters your organisation wants to attract.
DCAN is developing work on Social Return on Investment (SROI) under the banner 'Measuring the Difference'. SROI is an impact assessment tool which defines outcomes from a stakeholder prespective, identifies a financial proxy as a means of expressing the value of that outcome and compares the actual cost of a project or organisation, with the financial equivalent of the value it creates.

SROI can be used to predict the benefit a project will have, or evaluate what it has achieved.
