Diverse Carers Reports

Derbyshire Diverse Carers Report 2

Derby's Diverse Carers Report V3 Final

Funded by NHS Charities Together and completed by Derbyshire Carers Association and Community Action Derby, these reports aim to provide insight into the experiences of Carers from ethnic minority communities in Derbyshire and Derby City; highlighting issues such as cultural challenges and barriers that lead to Carers feeling isolated, alone and excluded from services such as health and social care.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the Carers who contributed to the successful completion of this project and generously shared their personal journeys with us. Your voices have been heard and without your contribution, this project wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you!

If you have any questions about these contact Emma Handley at emma.handley@derbyshirecarers.co.uk

Derbyshire Dialogue

Next topic is the Derbyshire Dementia Strategy – the 2025 Vision. This will take place over Microsoft Teams on 21 August, 1pm - 2pm. Please click here to book your place. The aim of the new 2025 Derbyshire Dementia Strategy is to provide a vision for how dementia services will be organised to ensure people living with dementia, their carers and those close to them, have the support and services they need to live well with dementia in Derbyshire.

World Suicide Prevention Day - Football Volunteer Signup

Each year the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) marks 10th of September as World Suicide Prevention Day. This is an opportunity for communities to come together to raise awareness of suicide prevention, tackle the stigma that prevents people from seeking help when in distress, and support and signpost people in need to sources of support. We will also be sharing a tool kit of resources around WSPD and Suicide Prevention closer to the time.
