Derbyshire Safe Haven

The Safe Haven, is a P3 service in Chesterfield that offers out-of-hours support for people with mental health needs. The service provides a community wellbeing resource where people can access support when they feel overwhelmed or unable to cope. This community resource works to prevent an escalation of problems and equips people with the necessary skills and resources to safely manage their problems and avoid future issues.

The Safe Haven provides a safe, supportive and friendly environment helping people in their recovery through promoting self-empowerment and independence.

Derbyshire LGBT+ is the only LGBT+ specific support service in Derbyshire, established to provide comprehensive support to individuals who identify as LGBT+, or any other non-heteronormative sexual orientation or gender identity. This includes support for their families, friends, and allies.

Founded in 1983, Derbyshire LGBT+ has been a cornerstone of the LGBT+ community in Derbyshire for over 40 years. The organisation was created to address the unique challenges faced by LGBT+ individuals, including issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, such as coming out, homelessness, violence, bullying, and harassment.

The primary mission of Derbyshire LGBT+ is to improve the health and emotional well-being of LGBT+ individuals in Derbyshire. We aim to be the leading provider of services that support and advocate for LGBT+ people, ensuring they receive the necessary emotional and practical support. The organisation also strives to be a voice for the LGBT+ community, promoting fairness, respect, empowerment, engagement, diversity, and openness.

Derbyshire LGBT+ offers a variety of services, including 2 community centres, one-to-one support, family services, youth groups, training, and sexual health resources. Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can achieve their full potential, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
