Community Action Derby, and Links CVS, have been working on a project on behalf of Joined Up Care Derbyshire (JUCD), to understand women's health in our area.
They have been talking to people in local communities and collecting information through surveys and workshops to understand how women’s health is doing and what needs to be better.
What do we mean when we say women's health?
Women face unique health challenges, and these are experienced differently by different groups of people. In this project, some of the key services and conditions we looked at were:
- Menstrual problems (periods)
- Menopause (when periods stop)
- Contraception (methods to stop becoming pregnant)
- Preconception care (before coming pregnant)
- Breast pain
- Cervical screening
- Sexually transmitted infections
All of the information has been collated into a report. We'd like to share what we found and what will happen next.
Date: 21st May 2025 (Wednesday)
Time: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
Location: The Arkwright Centre, Hardwick Dr, Chesterfield S44 5BS
