Join us as a Trustee at Sharewear Clothing Scheme!

We are looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team at Sharewear Clothing Scheme as a Trustee or our Chair of Trustees! We are looking for individuals with previous experience as a trustee or applicable skills to contribute through this volunteer role to our continued growth and achieving our mission.

About Us

Sharewear Clothing Scheme is a registered charity providing free-of-charge clothing for those experiencing clothing poverty in the Midlands and across the country. We do this using a combination of a referral system for individuals and an outreach service for organisations. From our first session in March 2014, we have grown from a completely volunteer led start-up lead by our Founder Dr Louise Cooke in a Nottingham church, to a team of four employees working as part of a brilliant, diverse team alongside our volunteers, many of whom are people who have used our service and ask to join our team to support others. We aim to grow awareness of the largely unreported issue of clothing poverty through our grassroots services, as well as social media campaigns and national media.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for individuals with experience of;

  • Previous trustee experience, with an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of trusteeship.
  • Leadership
  • Working as a team
  • Problem-solving
  • Strategic and visionary thinking
  • Going above and beyond for their team and organisation

We are looking for individuals who are passionate and driven who have the time and skills available to commit to 6 yearly meetings, as well as extra time year-round to work as part of a team to review policies and procedures, structure, safeguarding and financial stability of our organisation. You will be able to use your time to make a real difference to the most disadvantaged in your community, and enable the life changing services of Sharewear Clothing Scheme to reach even more people in need.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and diverse organisation, and would welcome individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds to be members of our Board of Trustees.

Please contact alex@sharewearclothingscheme.org to submit your interest in this role!
